GVW reduction to 3500 kg - category N1, category B licence
We reduce the GVW from higher values (e.g. 6000, 5000, 4600 kg) down to 3500 kg - category N1, category B licence. The procedure and new documents are handled in Germany, before the vehicle enters Poland.
GVW reduction to 3500 kg is a procedure carried out in Germany, before the vehicle is brought into Poland. We reduce the gross vehicle weight from higher values - e.g. from 6000, 5000 or 4600 kg down to 3500 kg - which puts the vehicle in category N1, drivable on a category B licence.
Category N1, category B licence. After the GVW is reduced to 3500 kg, any driver with a category B licence can drive the vehicle - no truck licence needed.
How the service works
- Verification that the vehicle technically qualifies for the GVW reduction.
- The technical procedure and preparation of full documentation in Germany.
- The changes are applied and new documents are issued by the German authorities.
What you receive
- full documentation from the German authorities,
- new German registration documents (Briefs) with the new GVW entered,
- a new nameplate with the vehicle's VIN and the updated weights.

Which vehicles qualify
The offer applies to vehicles purchased anywhere in the European Union that have not yet been registered in Poland - most often delivery and special-purpose vehicles of 4.6-6 t GVW.
